
Seizure First Aid Certification Training: University of Houston Downtown RN-BSN Program
As part of WIN's "Ready to Respond" Community Health & Preparedness Program, RN-BSN students at the University of Houston Downtown are invited to participate in a Seizure First Aid Certification Training designed to strengthen their knowledge, confidence, and preparedness when supporting individuals experiencing seizures.
This interactive 90-minute training will provide future nursing professionals with practical, evidence-based information on recognizing different types of seizures, responding safely and appropriately, and understanding when additional emergency intervention may be necessary.
Training Highlights
Recognizing common types of seizures and their presentations
Understanding appropriate seizure first aid and safety measures
Knowing when to seek emergency medical assistance
Addressing common misconceptions surrounding epilepsy and seizures
Building confidence in responding to seizure-related emergencies
Applying seizure response knowledge within healthcare and community settings
Participants who successfully complete the training will receive a Seizure First Aid Certification valid for two years.
